Welcome to Providence Place!
We are committed to making your move as seamless as possible. We fully support you and your family and want to ensure that the transition is smooth for everyone involved.

Providence place provides both independent supportive living (ISL) and Designated Supportive living (DSL) options for our residents. The applications process is determined by which style of living best fits your needs.

Independent Supportive Living (ISL)

This is arranged directly with the General Manager of Providence Place. Once your application is received, you may be placed on a waiting list if your particular preference of accommodation is not available at that time. Accommodation fees range from $545 to $1065 per month, depending on suite size and services required. Deposits and monthly fees are collected prior to move-in.
An assessment may be required to ensure that an applicant’s health and personal care needs do not exceed the services provided by Providence Place and our Home Care program.
When your accommodations have been confirmed, you’ll receive our Resident Handbook so you can get the full scope of what options and services are provided in your new home. Once you’ve had a chance to read through the information, and any concerns or questions you may have are addressed, you (or your designate) will be asked to sign residency and payment agreements.

Getting Ready for Your Move

Any move can be unsettling and filled with uncertainty. However, we take the utmost care to make it as smooth as possible. Your new home will truly be your space. We encourage our residents to add to or change it up to make it truly their own. While some of our residents may be downsizing when they move to Providence Place, once you see your suite, and have a feel for the size and scope of it, we hope you will bring whatever furniture and possessions are truly important to you to make your new home as comfortable and homey as possible.
Once you are comfortable and settled in your new home, you will find that there are numerous social activities to become involved in, which are also an excellent way to meet others in our community! Be assured, that our goal here at Providence Place, is to make everyone feel welcome and accepted.

Designated Supportive Living (DSL)

The first step in obtaining DSL accommodations is to call Alberta Health Services @ 1-855-371-4122. You will be asked to answer a series of questions during the initial call to register for Home Care. You will then be assigned an Alberta Health Care Case Manager in your community, who will guide you through the process of choosing a senior’s community in which to live in.
Accommodation costs are payable by the resident with rents determined annually by Alberta Health Care.
